As our spring 2019 session comes to a close we want to highlight some awesome things that happened this session.
We welcomed many new classes and partnerships including our Partnership with Metro Nashville Business Assistance Office, Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Metro Arts Commission.
Laura from Crème Catering who hosts our Seasonal Cooking Class with Nashville Farmer’s Market came on-board and welcomed two new classes, Anti-Inflammatory Comfort Foods Series and a Knife Skills class that was a huge hit.
Amanda Scott, who has been teaching our Essential Oils class for several sessions introduced new classes, Green Cleaning with Essential Oils and Essential Oils for Emotions. In these two classes, students were able to learn healthy alternatives and also make products in class to help them get started on their new journey.
We had a fun Cookie Decorating Basics class----YUMMM!! Hope the students enjoyed decorating these cookies as much as they enjoyed eating them.
And students in our Mandarin Chinese class celebrated Lunar New Year and their instructor, Winnie gave all of her students their own Chinese New Year red pocket, “Lucky Money.”
Oh, let’s not forget we got to see costume and vintage jewelry and learn all about Leather Craft and make handmade leather bags, who would’ve thought it would be that much work!!!
Making Comics class had a comic exchange party thanks to the sponsors (Wakeup Comics).
Imelda, our Program Director wrote a blog post for the spring program in Spanish!!! -Read it here!
We learned how fun HEMA can be through our Beginning HEMA: German Longsword class
Lakeithea, our Community Engagement Coordinator interviewed our instructor, Thomas Dowd about Understanding Heart Disease. Students learned about applying Makeup, we embraced Podcasting and we loved creating in journaling in Creative Personal Journal.
